The 12th Long Night of Sciences invites you to take a night-time stroll with an educational twist. On Saturday, 25 October 2025, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., those eager to learn will have the opportunity to discover the latest research at FAU WiSo.

The Long Night of Sciences is one of the largest science communication events in the Nuremberg metropolitan region and the largest long night of its kind in Germany. Universities, colleges, research institutions, companies, and associations offer insights into current topics and research findings, which are presented in exciting lectures, exhibitions, experiments, and hands-on activities.

FAU WiSo will once again be taking part in this year’s event, offering over 30 program items at Lange Gasse 20 in Nuremberg. Internal stakeholders, researchers, industry partners and student initiatives will be introducing themselves.

This year’s program highlights include:

  • A lecture on Gender Gaps: From Pay Inequality to Fertility – A Comparative View
  • Hands-on activities such as “Turning Old into Unique: Experience Creative Upcycling One-offs with Natural Materials”
  • Lecture with simulation: Fighting Global Warming – Explore Climate Solutions with En-ROADS

Nuremberg’s FAU WiSo offers a diverse program and many different topics. In addition, the student café “Trichter” attracts visitors in the basement of Lange Gasse with hot and cold drinks, a DJ and a relaxed atmosphere. You are warmly welcome!

The complete FAU WiSo program can be found here. Further information is available on the LNdW website.
