Structuring your semester

During the simulations, you will learn how to create your schedule and receive help with any questions and problems. However, if you would like to start creating your schedule beforehand, you can find the answers to some frequently asked questions below.

Which courses do I have to take in the first semester?

  • Go to the list of degree programs.
  • Select your degree program from the list of Bachelor’s degree programs.
  • Go to ‘FAQs and downloads’ and select the study plan for your specialization.
  • The modules that you must take in the first semester are listed under ‘Semester 1’. Make a note of these modules.

What topics are covered in this course?

  • Go to the list of module handbooks.
  • Find the module description for the module that you are looking for in the module handbook. Here you will find information on course content, required reading and more.

How do I create my schedule?

And this is how it works in Campo:

  • The courses are located under the tab “Studies offered > Show university course catalog”. Here, all courses of study at FAU are displayed under the various faculties.
  • After selecting the correct course of study, the correct examination regulations must be selected. This can easily be found under the tab “Student Service > My degree programs” behind the respective subject.
  • After selecting the examination regulations, the individual modules of the study program can be opened under the respective accounts marked in orange (for example, Bachelor’s examination/Master’s examination). These are marked with a green puzzle piece. The courses are assigned to the respective modules.
  • By clicking on the course, more detailed information, such as time or content, can be viewed. Under the tab “Parallel Groups/Dates” you will find the button “Save to schedule”. After clicking on the button, the course appears in the schedule.

The registration for the courses has also changed. From now on, this is only possible via StudOn and Oktis. Campo itself does not have a registration function.

Important information on tutorials

  • Lectures and tutorials are generally relevant for examinations and attendance is usually compulsory; tutorials and examination preparation courses are voluntary.
  • For tutorials there are often several tutorials shown that take place at the same time. You must only attend one of them.
  • Registration is required for some tutorials. Please check whether this applies on the website of the relevant chair or on campo.
  • More information about courses is usually available on the website of the relevant chair or professor. You can find the addresses of their websites in our list of chairs and professorships.

Do you have any questions?
