Partial system accreditation

Successful partial system accreditation

The quality management system for studying and teaching at the School of Business, Economics and Society has been reviewed in a partial system accreditation process.

The School was the first in Germany to complete the process successfully and received accreditation in summer semester 2013 having fulfilled all requirements.

System accreditation is based on a university’s internal quality assurance system. Once an internal quality assurance system has been accredited, all degree programs that have been through the quality assurance system are accredited for six years.

During the accreditation procedure, structures and processes that are relevant to studying and teaching are reviewed to check whether they ensure that qualification goals are met and degree programs are of high quality. The European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG), the requirements of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) (German) and the criteria of the Accreditation Council (AR) are applied during the review. If a university has received system accreditation, it means that its quality assurance system is suitable for ensuring that qualification goals are met and its degree programs are of high quality.
