International Business Studies

Short presentation of the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in International Business Studies (MIBS)

The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of international business. Students are supported in acquiring all the necessary skills required to succeed in an international environment. Special attention is given to the variety of approaches that firms choose to adapt their international operations due to the diversity of laws, business practices, and cultures across the globe.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the application deadline has been extended to the 30th of June, 2020.

In regards to the postponement of the application deadline for the M.Sc. in International Business Studies (MIBS), we would like to emphasize that we strongly suggest submitting your applications as early as possible.

This relates to the digital upload of all documents in CAMPO as well as to the postal/physical shipping of all required documents to the Master’s Office of FAU in Erlangen, Germany.

Despite the extension of the deadline, we suggest to provide us with all documents until the End of May, 2020 due to the following reasons:

  1. If we receive the applications earlier, we have an even distribution in regards to the workload. Receiving all applications (more than 1.000 each year) after the 30th of June, will result in significant delays in the decision making process for all applicants.
  2. If you are an international student outside of the European Union, we would like to emphasize that the procedure for a student visa can take up to 3 months – under normal circumstances. Currently, it takes significantly longer. Hence, the earlier you submit your application, the higher are the chances that you can participate in the MIBS program starting in October, 2020.From our past experience, we need to inform you that countries with long visa procedures, such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Iran will most probably not enable you to receive your visa in due time, if you submit your documents later than May.
  3. Earlier applications increase the certainty and planning opportunities for us as well as for you.

Please be advised that we do not offer any waivers regarding documents or English language proficiency tests. Despite the current situation, we kindly encourage you to provide us with all documents in order to meet the requirements for our MIBS Degree.

This degree program is taught in English. Therefore, excellent command of the English language is an essential prerequisite to completing the degree program successfully. The admission committee requires all applicants to submit proof of their English language proficiency, which can be met by providing a TOEFL score of 105+ or an equivalent certificate such as an IELTS test.
