FAU top in Bavaria: More than 2,000 students enrolled in part-time executive education programs

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is maintaining its leading position in the field of academic executive education in Bavaria. According to the latest figures on executive education programs at Bavarian universities published by the Bavarian State Office for Statistics (Fürth), a total of 2,095 people were enrolled in executive education programs at FAU in the winter semester 2025/26. This clearly positions FAU as a market leader among Bavarian universities. The lead is significant: While FAU has exceeded the 2,000-student mark, the university in second place has 670 students – less than one third of FAU’s figure.

Compared with the previous year, FAU has once again significantly increased its number of students in this area – from 1,795 to 2,095. The current evaluation once again highlights FAU’s outstanding role as a provider of academic executive education and lifelong learning.

A major contribution to this success comes from the MBA programs offered by the FAU WiSo Executive School (see also https://fau-executive-school.de). The six part-time MBA programs form the core of FAU’s portfolio and account for the majority of the total 2,095 students enrolled across the university’s nine executive education degree programs. As such, the FAU WiSo makes a decisive contribution to FAU’s leading position in the Bavarian comparison. The programs are aimed at professionals and executives who want to further develop their academic qualifications alongside their careers and prepare specifically for challenging management and leadership tasks.

The demand for part-time and professional development programs has been growing for years. With its broad portfolio in areas such as management, healthcare, sustainability, digitalization, and artificial intelligence, FAU enables professionals to systematically expand their skills and qualify for new career challenges.

With its innovative degree programs, close collaboration with business and society, and strong focus on lifelong learning, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg is strengthening its role as a driving force for academic executive education in Bavaria and beyond.
