Workshop “New Developments in the Macroeconomics of Labour Markets”

On 17 and 18 June, the workshop “New Developments in the Macroeconomics of Labour Markets” took place, organised jointly by the Chair of Macroeconomics at FAU’s Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). Aysegül Sahin (Princeton University) and Benjamin Schoefer (University of California, Berkeley) delivered keynote speeches. In addition, numerous renowned academics from around the world travelled to Nuremberg to present their research findings. These included, for example, Per Krusell (IIES, Stockholm), a long-standing member of the Nobel Prize Committee for Economics, Ana Figueiredo (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Rüdiger Bachmann (University of Michigan) and Hie Joo Ahn (Federal Reserve Bank, Board of Governors).

The papers presented were selected through a competitive process. Each paper received feedback from discussants, many of whom were from FAU and the IAB. The workshop programme can be found here.

The workshop forms part of the ‘Ensuring Economic and Employment Stability’ network. The network is coordinated by the Chair of Macroeconomics at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo).
