With its commitment to supporting young researchers, FAU is strategically expanding its key research priorities, whilst at the same time giving up-and-coming young researchers the best possible opportunities for professional development. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is now funding 24 new tenure track professorships at FAU.
In modern factories, machines are connected via digital networks which means that the entire production process can be controlled rather than just isolated processes. FAU scientists are working with partners from research and industry to develop a cloud platform for industrial service processes for companies to offer and run their services on.
Every year around 4,000 students from all over the world come to FAU to benefit from excellent research opportunities and teaching. To maximise this positive experience for all, FAU Volunteers for Internationals (FVI) organise trips to the Franconian countryside, language meet-ups, hikes and much more during the entire academic year.
FAU has maintained its position as one of the best 200 universities worldwide. It ranks 180th in the recently published Academic Ranking of World Universities, better known as the Shanghai Ranking. In national comparison, FAU ranks in 11th place. The Academic Ranking of World Universities is published annually by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
For the third year in succession, FAU is ranked as the academic institution that has produced the most widely cited publications in Germany. This is one of the findings of the recently published QS World University Rankings 2018. And internationally, FAU can be delighted with its 21st spot in this prestigious category, an excellent result in this indicator.
The School of Business and Economics offers over 20 degree programs – one of the most diverse ranges of subjects available in German-speaking countries. Nuremberg is an excellent choice as a place to study. It offers high-quality education, a conducive academic environment, and access to job opportunities for a successful and fulfilling career.
FAU is synonymous with innovation: in Reuters latest ranking of Europe’s most innovative universities, FAU is ranked at number 6. FAU also remains at second place among German universities. In measuring innovation, the ranking system takes ten different parameters into account – including research publications and collaboration projects with industry.
The School of Business and Economics has once again performed excellently in the Centre for Higher Education’s (CHE) current university ranking and is ranked among the best for business law, information systems, industrial engineering and management, and business studies. The CHE collects data for its university ranking once a year.
From April 27th on, the Welcome Centre will be present in Nuremberg once a week and hold office hours in a room at the School of Business and Economics. You can meet the team in Lange Gasse 20, room 4.122b, on Thursdays between 9 am and 3 pm. FAU ranks among the best 150 universities worldwide in four subject areas according to the latest QS World University Ranking published by the education information service provider Quacquarelli Symonds. In medicine, humanities, engineering, economics, natural sciences and social sciences, FAU was listed as one of the best 350 universities worldwide in twelve subjects.
