FAU ReWi digital: Faculty Rollout successfully launched

The digital transformation of FAU reaches its next milestone: following the successful relaunch of fau.de, the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law (FAU ReWi) has now gone live with its new web presence. With the launch of the Faculty homepage, the School of Law, the School of Business, Economics, and Society, and their associated chairs and professorships, the realignment of FAU’s digital presence is now tangible at the faculty level.

Strategically Connected

“The digital transformation is now tangible across faculties. With each rollout, we are systematically building a unified digital presence that makes FAU as a whole more tangible,” explains Silke Sauer, Chief Brand Officer of FAU and project lead of the web relaunch. “Guiding an organization of around 55,000 people through this process is a huge challenge, but the launch of FAU ReWi shows it works. The engagement and professional implementation at the faculty level confirm our strategic approach.”

Built for tomorrow

The new pages combine clear structures, intuitive navigation, and a visual concept that communicates FAU’s identity. Authentic images of students, researchers, and staff from everyday campus life bring the faculty to life and foster closeness and transparency. At the same time, the new design makes the guiding principle “Moving Knowledge” visible. Technically, the site is built to remain future-proof: it is accessible, mobile-optimized, features an improved search, and is based on WordPress as a flexible, scalable system. The relaunch was realized in collaboration with the Hamburg-based agency Mondula (technical) and Berlin-based Studio Good (design).

Engaged Implementation

“The rollout with FAU ReWi has been exemplary,” emphasizes Katrin Burkhardt, project manager of the FAU web relaunch. “Colleagues across the faculty, departments, and chairs have actively contributed to the migration process: updating content, critically reviewing structures, and embracing the new design with openness. This professional collaboration and high level of commitment at all levels have significantly shaped the success of the implementation. FAU ReWi sets an excellent standard for the upcoming rollouts.”

Next Steps

The launch of FAU ReWi marks the beginning of a comprehensive decentralized rollout phase: by summer 2026, all faculties, chairs, and units at FAU will gradually transition to the new design. A continuous improvement process ensures that the websites remain closely aligned with the needs of users.
